Phill Jones Joins AuthentiSci Board of Trustees

AuthentiSci is delighted to announce the appointment of Phill Jones, PhD, to its Board of Trustees.

Phill brings a wealth of experience in research, technology, and business strategy, along with a longstanding commitment to research integrity that aligns closely with AuthentiSci’s mission to improve the quality and transparency of science reporting.

As a Trustee, Phill will help guide AuthentiSci’s strategic direction and support the organisation’s work to improve the quality, transparency, and accountability of scientific reporting.

Phill is an award-winning digital product and technology leader, and former research scientist in both Physics and Neuroscience. He specialises in helping early-stage companies transition to growth phase drawing on extensive experience in data and information platforms, digital architecture, publishing, and entrepreneurship.

Over the past 15 years, Phill has been at the forefront of innovation in academic information. Most recently, he was Co-founder for Digital and Technology at the MoreBrains Cooperative, where he advised funders, universities, and infrastructure providers on major infrastructure investments. Previously, he was CTO at Emerald Publishing, held several outreach and innovation roles at Digital Science, and was the first editorial director at Journal of Visualized Experiments.

In addition to his professional roles, Phill serves in several volunteer and governance positions and is a judge for the Karger Vesalius Innovation Awards.

With Phill joining the Board, AuthentiSci continues to strengthen the expertise guiding its development. As the organisation grows its global network of scientists and expands its platform, the Board will play a central role in ensuring that AuthentiSci remains focused on its core goal of improving the accuracy, transparency, and public understanding of science in the media.
